Sticker Design

Sticker design needs to look sharp at small sizes, stay readable on the shelf and print cleanly on the right material. @Print prepares sticker artwork for product labels, promos and branding use across Randfontein and the wider West Rand.

Sticker artwork that works on pack and on-site

We design stickers for jars, boxes, bags, bottles, envelopes, display units and giveaways. The aim is simple: the artwork must fit the job, print cleanly and hold up once it is applied. For West Rand businesses that need quick turnaround, we set up files for digital print and make sure the final layout works at the exact size you need, whether it is a small round label or a larger promotional sticker.

Our sticker design service covers new artwork, redraws of rough ideas, text cleanup, layout changes and print-ready setup. If you already have a logo, we can work it into the sticker design and match colours as closely as possible within the print process. If you need a full label from scratch, we can build the layout around your product details, barcode area, ingredients, pricing, or branding message. The result must be practical, not just pretty.

  • Product labels for packaging and retail use
  • Promotion stickers for events, specials and campaigns
  • Branding stickers for boxes, courier bags and inserts
  • Window, floor and equipment stickers where needed

What is included in the design service

Every sticker job starts with the size, shape and purpose of the label. We check what the sticker needs to say, how it will be applied, and what finish suits the surface. Gloss or matt, permanent or removable, indoor or short-term outdoor use, all of these affect the design setup. If the sticker will sit on a curved bottle or a textured carton, we design with that in mind so text does not fall into awkward places.

We handle the practical parts too: bleed, safe areas, trim lines, cut lines and colour checks. That means your artwork is prepared for production without guesswork. If you need a series of labels for different flavours, sizes or variants, we can keep the layout consistent and just update the changing details. Small changes can make a big difference on shelf and a sloppy layout can cost you extra print wastage.

  • Layout for round, square, rectangular and custom shapes
  • Text hierarchy for product names, details and warnings
  • Barcode and QR placement, where supplied
  • Colour adjustments for print friendliness
  • Print ready setup with bleed and cut marks

How the sticker design process runs

We keep the process straightforward so you can move from concept to print without delay. First we collect the size, wording, intended use and any reference files. Then we prepare the artwork and send a proof for review. Once you are happy with the layout, we finalise the print file and move the job into production. For clients in Randfontein, Krugersdorp, Westonaria, Mogale City and Roodepoort this is usually the fastest route when you need same-day digital print support.

If your information is not final yet, we can still help with a first draft and update the artwork when the last details come in. That is useful for new launches and seasonal runs where product info may still be changing. We also offer proofing updates if you spot a spelling change, size correction or a small layout issue after the first draft. It is better to fix it before print than rework a whole batch later.

  1. Send your text, logo and sticker size requirements
  2. We set up the layout and place the content correctly
  3. You review the proof and request changes if needed
  4. We finalise the file for print and production

Artwork specs we work to

Sticker design is only reliable when the file is set up properly. We work at the correct physical size, usually in millimetres, and build in the bleed needed for trimming. For small labels, especially anything under 50 mm wide, we keep fonts legible and avoid fine details that can fill in during print. For larger promo stickers, we can use stronger imagery and more open spacing so the message lands quickly from a distance.

Where possible, artwork should be supplied in high resolution or editable format, but if all you have is a low-quality image we can often redraw it. That is common with older logos and quick job files that have been passed around on phones and WhatsApp. We will advise on what can be saved and what needs a cleaner rebuild. For outdoor or sun-exposed use, we also consider whether the sticker will face moisture, direct light or regular handling, because that affects both design choices and material selection.

  • Artwork size: set to final trim size in mm
  • Bleed: allow at least 3 mm on each side
  • Safe zone: keep key text 2 to 3 mm inside trim
  • Resolution: 300 dpi for raster elements
  • Colour: prepared for print, with consistent colour values
  • File checks: spelling, spacing, cut lines and alignment

Turnaround, pricing and what changes the cost

Sticker design pricing depends on how much artwork work is needed, how many versions you want, and whether the file is starting from scratch or from existing material. A simple text update on a set layout costs less than a full label redraw with multiple variants. We keep pricing practical and quote according to the actual work involved, so you are not paying for extras you do not need.

For urgent jobs, the turnaround can be very quick if we have all the correct information from the start. In many cases, design and proofing can be handled on the same day, especially for business customers in the Randfontein CBD and nearby West Rand areas. If a job needs more detail, such as several product versions or a complete artwork redraw, we will tell you upfront what time frame to expect. Load-shedding and municipal interruptions can affect the pace of any print workflow, so it helps to send final content early in the day where possible.

  • Simple text edits and size changes: usually fastest
  • New sticker layouts: allow extra time for proofing
  • Multiple variants: budget more time for version control
  • Urgent same-day work: subject to file readiness and queue

Keeping sticker artwork current

Sticker artwork should be checked from time to time, especially if your prices, contact details, ingredients, batch notes or promotions change often. We recommend a review every 3 to 6 months for fast-moving products and at least once a year for standard brand labels. This keeps your printed stock current and helps avoid wasted labels with outdated information. It also matters if your business grows into new product lines or changes packaging sizes.

For businesses operating in humid conditions, near kitchens, or where labels are handled often, it is worth reviewing the design and finish together. A layout that looked fine on screen may need a stronger type size or simpler spacing once it is on a bottle or box. We can update old files, clean up the artwork and prepare a new version that is easier to print and easier to read. Small maintenance now saves a lot of reprinting later, and that matters when margins are tight.

Questions we get asked

Can you design stickers for small product labels?

Yes. We regularly set up small labels for jars, bottles, bags and boxes, with careful attention to text size, spacing and print trim so the label stays readable.

Do you help if my logo is old or low quality?

Yes. We can redraw or clean up older artwork where needed, then build the sticker layout around it so the final file is suitable for print.

How quickly can a sticker design be done?

If the content is ready and the layout is straightforward, it can often move through design and proofing on the same day. More complex label sets need more time.
